Upcoming Events
Our children have a half an hour session of music and movement with Gema (South American music teacher) each Tuesday on a fortnightly basis. The children have the opportunity to engage in singing, dancing, group games and experiment and explore various instruments.
Yoga sessions occur each week, offered to the Dolphins and Preschoolers. Yoga is provided by a trained yoga instructor.
As well as the above regular activities, the Centre also organises other incursions and excursions which have included:
‘Kindifarm’ is a mobile farm which visits the Centre for two hours and provides opportunities for children to touch, nurse and feed various baby farm animals.
‘Walkabout Reptiles’ is a licensed team which visit the Centre for one to two hours which provide the opportunity for children to look and touch non-threatening reptiles and explore a series of fossils. This is incorporated with singing songs about reptiles and learning about reptiles and their habitat.
MNCC tries to arrange a visit from the fire brigade, police and ambulance teams each year. During this time the children are taught life skills and learn about what the emergency services provide to the community. The children also get to look around the vehicles and have their picture taken.
The Living Eggs Program runs for two weeks, and the children become carers, watching the eggs hatch and looking after the baby chicks.
This year the parents and familes will be treated to a Christmas concert on Friday 2nd December. We look forward to having our music teacher Gemma sing Christmas songs with the Rock-A-Bye Bear group and listening to the Dolphin/Preschool group perform some Christmas classics. After the concert we will be having a small graduation for those big children who are off to school next year.
